Statement on the Overturning of Roe v Wade

Today the Supreme Court overturned over 50 years of bad law. For the past 50 years, Conservatives have stood up to demand that the Supreme Court allow states to determine the status of abortion, just like the Constitution intended. This is the most significant Conservative judicial victory in my lifetime. I am proud to be part of the pro-life generation.

Now that the issue has returned to the states, I call on the North Carolina General Assembly to expeditiously pass legislation protecting the unborn from murder. I will continue to fight in North Carolina until abortion is made illegal.

Thank you to all who have stood up and made your voices heard throughout the country in the past 50+ years. This victory wouldn’t have been possible without your steadfast determination to end the ridiculous idea that the constitution protects the right of someone to murder a child.

Statement on Republicans Supporting Gun Legislation

The gun bill passed by the Senate last night will not make communities safer. Red flag laws in particular will facilitate further abuse of political opposition’s Constitutional rights by the Left. It is a step backward in de-stigmatizing mental health issues and helping people get proper treatment. Veterans who have served our country honorably and at great expense will now hesitate before seeking treatment for service-related injuries.

The Republicans that supported this bill have betrayed their constituents and do not deserve another term in office. This is a disgusting betrayal of the Second Amendment by people who claim to stand for 2A rights.
