Today the United States, our allies, and the Afghan people were attacked by an evil enemy. Today should be a day for mourning, and a day of reflection.
The service members attacked today were fathers, sons, daughters, and mothers. The Americans in Afghanistan are going through hell right now, and they deserve the support and prayers of all Americans.
There will be plenty of opportunities in the coming weeks and months to point the finger, to lay blame, and to investigate what happened in Afghanistan. Now is not the time for politics, it’s the time for prayer and reflection.
I will be praying for President Biden to make the best decisions going forward. I will be praying for the families of all involved, including the people killed and injured today. I will be praying for the Americans still in Afghanistan. I will be praying for our allies still with us in Afghanistan, including the Afghans who have stood shoulder to shoulder with us in the last 20 years.
